J.P.'s book tip # 1

Well hello there. Welcome to the first part of our Red Series, here on jaded puppy where we will dive a bit into the socialist mindset. Me myself can't really escape the socialist mindset with all these nutcases around me, so i'm afraid i will drag you down with me for a bit.

Actually i was gonna post a whole seperate post about the first of may demonstration i attended, but since that has passed 25 days ago, and it has a high "you really should have been there"-factor, i'm afraid you would get quite bored. However you really should have been there. I had my first first of may demonstration in Rotterdam, Holland, last year as a reporter. A lousy 1.500 people were attending. This year we were strengthening the local revolutionaries in Arboga, a town of, as we guess here in the couch, 60.000 people.

The organisors consisted mostly of macho south americans. The demonstrators totalled 80 people. There is something about walking with eighty people through a pittoresk Swedish province town on on a sunny sunday afternoon shouting militant phrases. After the march a couple of guys and gals made speeches, god knows what about, after which El Gato, the naval cord with his birthland cut, sang a classic concert full of sentimental South American tearjerkers....

Anyhow, the book review... well let's save that for the next entry. Suffice to say here that this Red Series might just be the start of a an interesting history of a boy in decline... Of a slightly dull but friendly boy that slowly gives way to radicalisation as a means of channeling his frustrations and ends up as opener on the evening news. You heard it here first!
